Complete the online portion, typically takes 3-4 hours, and bring certificate of completion to a HeartCode skills portion ($60). Register for the HeartCode skills portion here CPR and EMS Classes BLS, PALS and ACLS Certification in Elkhart, Indiana (enrollware.com) look for MHSB PALS HeartCode The skills portion of the class will take approx 3-4 hours. At the skills session, students will be checked off on the following skills checklists (checklists are attached) and 2 case scenarios (1 cardiac/1 respiratory or shock): Infant and Child CPR Airway Management Rhythm Disturbances Vascular Access Directions to the conference room/sim lab (if you cannot badge through a door text/call 503-267-3881): Option 1 - Take A elevator to 4th floor, enter through doors on right, follow signs. Option 2 - Park in the Lafayette Garage on the 4th floor Enter through the NORTH clinic entrance (NOT the pediatric oncology entrance). Follow the hallway around to the end (do not go through the double doors) and turn right. Follow signs.

This class is only for Advanced Practice Nurses (NP) and Physicians. If you are a staff nurse you can not take this course. Heart Code classes are not available any longer for Staff nurses.

Description

HeartCode PALS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the PALS Course. Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes part of the course in a self-directed manner, followed by a hands-on session with an AHA PALS Instructor.HeartCode PALS is a self-directed, comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. Students will be presented with a team dynamics lesson and 10 In-hospital patient cases, including a BLS case and 2 megacode cases. The cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to successfully complete per AHA standards. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students will take a multiple choice exam and must pass with a minimum score of 84%.
